Godrej Regent Park Metro

This corridor is also called the Red Line by planners. It stretches 36.59 km between Sarjapur and Hebbal. Karnataka's cabinet approved this line back in December 2024. The Centre then raised concerns about the cost and asked for a review. This pushed BMRCL to bring in consultant Systra for cost cuts.

Systra's report arrived in 2025 for review. This caused a DPR to be made by February 2026. The new plan cut the cost from ₹28,405 crore to ₹25,999 crore. Central approval is likely to happen around October 2026 now. Construction is now set to begin by May 2027.

So, contrary to some claims online, this line isn't built yet. It remains firmly in the planning and approval stage today. Full completion is expected sometime in the early 2030s.

Godrej Regent Park sits on Sarjapur Main Road at Kada Agrahara. The nearest planned stop is the Sarjapur Road Metro Station. This station will sit roughly 1 to 2 km from the project. It remains part of the same Phase 3A corridor plan.

The Carmelaram Railway Station is an option for people right now. It is 3 km away from where they need to go. The station already has some commuter services that run on routes. This means that people can get around by train before the metro fully opens.

The line goes up high along Sarjapur Road and Outer Ring Road. Then it goes down under the ground when it gets to the part. Some important stops under the ground are Dairy Circle, Nimhans and KR Circle. The line comes up to the surface near Ganganagar, and then it gets to Hebbal.

This route will connect Sarjapur Road directly to HSR Layout. It also links onward to Marathahalli and Central Bangalore zones. Once operational, this should cut daily commute times sharply for residents.

Bangalore has a metro network called Namma Metro that is 96.1 km long. It has 83 stations and runs on two lines. These lines are called the Purple Line and the Green Line. Short distance fare is ₹10 and long distance fare is ₹60.

People who have a Smart Card get a discount of 10% on the fare. You can also buy a Day Pass for ₹100, which allows you to travel as much as you want for the whole day.

These numbers are useful to know when we think about the Red Line. We do not know yet how much it will cost to travel on the Sarjapur-Hebbal corridor.

Until the metro starts running, BMTC buses take care of most of the travel needs. Many routes already cover the Sarjapur Road area well. Route 342E goes from Sarjapur to Shivajinagar by way of Agara and Madiwala. Route 328 travels from Sarjapur to KR Market through HSR Layout.

Route 341B connects Dommasandra to Majestic via Carmelaram and Bellandur. The Vayu Vajra route V-360B goes directly from Sarjapur to the airport.

Buses in this area run from 5:30 AM to 10:30 PM every day. During these hours, you can catch a bus every 10 to 15 minutes. The Godrej Regent Park buses are pretty affordable, with fares between ₹15 and ₹50 for each trip. You can use apps like Namma BMTC and Moovit to check when the next bus is arriving.

Sarjapur Road itself is currently getting a six-lane upgrade. This should ease daily congestion once construction work fully wraps up. The Outer Ring Road sits about 14 km from the project. This drive usually takes close to 35 minutes in traffic.

If you are coming from the Outer Ring Road, it is easy to get to Silk Board Junction. The Electronic City Elevated Expressway also helps people go south. When the Peripheral Ring Road is finished, it will be even easier to travel.

New metro lines usually make the price of properties go up over time. For example, Sarjapur Road has seen prices go up by 50-60% recently. Every year, property prices are going up by 10-15% in this area. If you buy a property before a new metro station opens, you can make a lot of money.

Godrej Regent Park is 1-2 km away from a planned metro station, so it is a good idea to buy a property here before construction starts. People who buy early will benefit a lot from Godrej Regent Park's location once the metro station is built.
